Another action-packed episode is on the way from Trucking Answers!  Off we go to talk about 18-20 year olds driving a truck again.  Are they really going to lower our pay any more than it already is?  I don’t think so.  A deodorant fire helps a truck stop smell nice and is strong enough for a man but made for a woman.  Wages for truck driving are up but it is only causing churn in the industry, the same drivers are just changing jobs.  Did you know a Tesla requires regular brake caliper lubing?  I did not either and it turns out that costs $430.  The Jeep 4XE is almost $12000 more than a V6 Rubicon.  Is that worth it to you?  President Biden wants 50% of car sales to be EV by 2030.  Are you charged up about that?  I wrap up with a reason we are not on Mars.

In this fire-laden action-packed episode of Trucking Answers Mark and Gracie give out the latest trucking news! I-70 is closed in Colorado for who knows how long.  Trucking companies are using Visa Solutions to import drivers to the United States when they don’t need to do so.  I tell why this is.  Nikola trucks are in the news but not for a good reason.

Toyota ends the Avalon production after 30 years because all the old people that wanted one have died.  The Chevy Camaro comes to an end in 2024 to be replaced by a wimpy electric sports car that no one wants.  Ford is going to car ordering and to have less cars on dealer lots.  Not a bad idea, my dad used to order cars all the time.

If you are a trucking company that needs help with driver recruiting and retention, write to me.  I can help.

Another thrilling action-packed non-stop episode is ready!  Today in Trucking Answers Mark and Gracie talk about the Olympic Simone Biles controversy, Mark is amazed to find out that President Joe Biden was a truck driver, there is an issue about factoring and a driver dumps 4000 gallons of gas in a stream on purpose.  Werner Enterprises is getting a full review of the $89M judgement and I agree.  New Jersey is going to start naming their service plazas after famous people from New Jersey, like WHITNEY HOUSTON. Hilarious.  New MPG standards are coming to the car industry and a vehicle near you and the new Bronco is already having problems.  No surprise there, Ford is terrible in a first year vehicle.  Also, another reason we are not on Mars.

In another action-packed episode of Trucking Answers, Mark and Gracie discuss a company that is writing up drivers for too many lane changes.  Also, are shorter hauls in the trucking industry what it needs to keep drivers?  The pay will have to change for that to happen.  Rates are up as some drivers get percentage pay.  Are you getting a dollar a mile as a company driver? Maybe you are.  Minnesota adopts California CARB standards forcing worthless electric cars on people.  The Chevrolet Bolt has an urgent message and that message is to leave it outside so it doesn’t catch your house on fire.  It has some type of battery problem.  Also, another reason we are not yet living on Mars.  It is so close but so far away.

In this nail-biting episode I talk about the I-16 bridge update.  I discuss drivers getting their 5th wheel pulled and I go in to great detail about bedbugs and what can be done about them in your truck.  Hint:  Not much.  I look into what could be the best new car bargain today, the Chevrolet Spark 2LT Manual.  Heated seats for such a low price!  A better deal than a used car at that price, I think.

In today’s thrilling episode of Trucking Answers we find out what happened to me on Saturday and why it took so long.  Why don’t drivers do what they are supposed to do?  More I-40 news and opening date.  The Werner Drive Pro app is now available.  What do I think about it?  I got a download in the middle east!  Leasing a car is a good idea for some but now you may have to trade it in back at the dealer.  People are mad but shouldn’t be.  Indiana is going to install 61 fast chargers for electric cars with tax money.  Also, a young lady goes for a mattress flight.

In today’s thrilling episode of Trucking Answers I discuss the future of autonomous trucking and the FMCSA floating a trial balloon about changing the HOS for autonomous trucks with drivers.  A driver without a license who is prohibited from driving is told not to drive and they really mean it this time.  System Transport will move the Capitol Christmas Tree this year, congrats!  A dump truck moves a bridge 6 feet but not in a good way.

A Tesla takes on the heat of summer and loses.  The best car long distance is a 2018 Chevy Cruze Diesel 6-speed manual with the RS package, I say.  The F150 loses its diesel option.  How to charge your new electric car when the power goes out.

A man protecting his property forgets he is protecting his property and pays.

The Trucking Answers Podcast rolls along today by talking about the strike at Volvo and what is going to happen.  Did you know you are only worth what you can be replaced with?  Ford Bronco vs Ford Maverick.  Companies:  If you watch your drivers 24 hrs a day, including taking pictures of them from the inky shadows, expect them to quit and not recommend the place to other people.  Tesla is going to allow other car makers to use its charging network and I think that is a terrible idea.  Zonar is up as well as another article I read.  Let me know what you like and what you don’t like!

I wanted to do an episode about trucking the way it was when I started in 1988 compared to the way it is now.  What are the biggest changes since then?  I think the cell phone is the biggest change for sure.  There are other things that make trucking better today than it has been.  Let’s look at a few of those as we reminisce about the way trucking used to be.  What are your memories of trucking past?
